    Description

    Forbidden Planet (MGM, 1956). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. One Sheet (27" X 41").
A gem among the 1950s' science fiction pictures, this other world adventure fused together high production values, a futuristic setting, and a touch of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Perhaps most importantly, it created one of the most beloved characters the genre was to produce, Robby the Robot. Audiences instantly adored the film's automaton, who would go on to star in The Invisible Boy and make several appearances in a number of other films and TV shows, most notably in The Twilight Zone. Signs of use include slight edge and fold wear, pinpoint crossfold separation, pinholes, and minute bits of paper loss. The poster has a few diagonal creases, a horizontal crease through the credits area, and a thin gouge in the right border. There is a misfold at the middle horizontal fold, soft surface rippling in the right side, as well as some smudging and stains at the bottom. The verso has two postage stamps. The poster is printed slightly off-center resulting in a wider border on the left than the right. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
