DescriptionForbidden Planet (MGM, 1956). Folded, Fine+. Insert (14" X 36").
Leslie Nielsen stars in this science fiction epic featuring the debut of the one and only, Robby the Robot. The mechanical fan favorite is the center of attention on this prized insert, showcasing one of the most iconic images of any poster to come from the 1950s. A loose adaptation of William Shakespeare's The Tempest, the film stands out as a true classic, and is one of the greatest of the genre. Unbacked with some professional restoration, this poster has had touchup applied to the folds, pinholes, and a few small chips and tears. The borders have been airbrushed and the folds have been pressed out. Some of the airbrushing has begun to crack at the top and the poster has some mild color fading.
Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000.
