    Description

White Heat (Warner Brothers, 1949). Three Sheet (41" X 79").
James Cagney had sworn off his typecast gangster roles from the early 1930s when he decided to return to the genre for one last hurrah. Under the guidance of director Raoul Walsh, Cagney turned in perhaps his greatest performance: that of an aging gangster dealing with treachery within his own gang, as well as with his own mental psychosis. Although it was the last of Warner Brothers' big gangster films, this picture would go on to become a classic of the genre and gave a social significance to the effects of mental illness and crime. Featuring a striking image of Cagney, this three sheet has had touchup to the folds, creasing, and mild chips in the borders and folds. There were some tears in James Cagney's image, and the borders have been airbrushed. Considered by many to be the best format for this film. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
