Veronica Lake (Paramount, 1944). French Poster (22.5" X 31"). Brooklyn-born Constance Ockleman was prodded into a performing career by her ambitious mother. Her first film work was at RKO doing meaningless bit parts where she went unnoticed and was dropped at the end of her contract. She re-emerged with a new name, Veronica Lake, and a new look. Lake allowed her blonde hair to obscure one eye while being photographed and became known as "the girl with the peek-a-boo bang." Lake quickly ascended to leading roles at Paramount and became one of the studio's most popular actresses during the 1940s. Gorgeous French poster displays Lake in all her "peek-a-boo" beauty with artwork by Roger Soubie. Very Fine-.
