    Description

This Gun for Hire (Paramount, 1942). Three Sheet (41" X 81").
The quintessential film noir, this sensational pairing of Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake is a taut thriller from start to finish. Ladd shot to stardom with his portrayal of the hired gun with a conscious, Philip Raven, who is double-crossed by his client Willard Gates, played by a very menacing Laird Cregar. Lake stars as Ellen Graham, posing undercover as a nightclub singer in order to find out who is backing Gates. Professional restoration has addressed condition issues including some slight paper loss on the right side and small chips and tears in credits, pinholes, small chips in the crossfold separations and some minor abrasions remain on the left side. The poster displays very well, and with the superb images of the three stars and the incredible title-on-gun motif, this will be a hot item for noir aficionados. Good/Very Good on Linen.
