Description
The Third Man (British Lion, 1949). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. British One Sheet (26.75" X 39.75").The Third Man follows American writer Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten) as he arrives in post-World War II Vienna to visit his friend Harry Lime (Orson Welles), only to learn that Lime has died under suspicious circumstances, prompting a descent into the city's shadowy black market. Celebrated for its haunting cinematography and unforgettable zither score, the film stands as a landmark of film noir, delving into themes of moral ambiguity and the lingering effects of war. Its enduring influence and artistry have secured its place as one of cinema's true masterpieces. This rare British one sheet has been backed on linen and somewhat noticeable touchup and replacement has endeavored to correct fold wear, pinholes, creases, tears, a missing bottom right corner, and a few minor chips. Additionally, there is some foxing on the linen verso.
