    Description

    The Story of Temple Drake (Paramount, 1933). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
    Based on William Faulkner's novel, Sanctuary, this pre-code drama was so racy that when the code did take effect a year later, Joseph Breen, the new Production Code administrative head, said the film would never be re-released. It did not appear again until the 1950s. This scene has Temple (Miriam Hopkins) being held by bootleggers and being threatened by one of the mob. Corner bends, one small tear in the right border, pinholes in the top corners, and one in the center of the top border and bottom left in the cast credits. Very Fine-.
