    Description

The Maltese Falcon (Les Films Regence Algerie, R-1950s). Very Fine- on Linen. North African French Grande (46" X 62") Jacques Bonneaud Artwork.
Featuring Humphrey Bogart dual-wielding pistols as his enemies fall before him, this French design by artist Jacques Bonneaud for a re-release of The Maltese Falcon emphasizes the hardboiled edge of Bogart's Sam Spade. While the action in this quintessential film noir might be a bit overstated on this exciting stone litho poster, the tension between Sam Space and Joel Cairo (Peter Lorre) with the shadow of the Maltese Falcon behind them is a perfect representation of the film. Backed on linen, the poster displays slight edge and fold wear, pinholes, small fold separations, moderate tears, minor creases, and a re-attached chip in the top right corner. There are also faint smudges and a few unobtrusive stains. Touchup has been applied to the letter "F" in the title and to writing bleedthrough just below the title.
