The Lady from Shanghai (Columbia, 1947). Three Sheet (41" X 80").
Rita Hayworth is sensational in her role as devious Elsa Bannister, embodying the ultimate femme fatale in Orson Welles' film noir classic. A poor seaman (Welles) falls in with a dangerous crowd of human sharks after coming to the aid of a fair maiden (Hayworth) whom he believes is about to be robbed. Co-stars Everett Sloane and Glenn Anders are sufficiently menacing. Hayworth strikes a seductive pose against a flaming red background on this three sheet. Professional restoration has addressed surface paper loss on the verso, at the top crossfold, and a small chip in Hayworth's chest. Touchup has been applied to folds, and top left corner and upper right background chips. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
