Description
The Lady from Shanghai (Columbia, 1947). One Sheet (27" X 41").An enigmatic, complex film noir, The Lady from Shanghai showcases the extensive talents of writer, producer, director, and star Orson Welles, but it's the sizzling Rita Hayworth (his wife at the time) who has this wildly popular one sheet all to herself. A pleasant cruise to San Francisco kicks off an elaborate web of lies, deception, seduction, intrigue, and murder, that leads to the film's unforgettable climax -- the "hall of mirrors" scene. The gifted Jean Louis, designer of the famous Gilda black dress, created another dazzling look for Hayworth, shown here in body-hugging satin. An absolute stunner, this one sheet has slight color enhancement to the red background, airbrushing to the borders to address small chips and tears, and touchup to chips in the horizontal fold and crossfolds. Very Good on Linen.
