    Description

    The Killers (Universal, 1946). Fine/Very Fine. Insert (14" X 36").
This film noir classic, based on a story by Ernest Hemingway, marked the film debut of Burt Lancaster. Sultry Ava Gardner is his love interest in this hard-nosed drama of an ex-fighter found murdered, and the subsequent investigation. Anthony Veiller's Oscar-nominated screenplay helped make The Killers one of the definitive film noir experiences, including what many consider to be one of the greatest opening sequences in movie history. The poster shows signs of use including edge wear, horizontal creasing, pinholes, and moderate tears. There are also a few minute paper lifts, unobtrusive stains, and a minor bit of penciled writing in the upper text. The left border has a small splice attached with linen tape on the verso. Fine/Very Fine.

    Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
