    Description

    The Big Sleep (Warner Brothers, 1954). First Release Japanese B2 (20" X 29").
    Humphrey Bogart became the definitive private detective Phillip Marlowe in this adaptation of Raymond Chandler's novel. Bogart was also reunited with his leading lady (and real-life wife) Lauren Bacall in this tale of blackmail and murder. This first release Japanese poster sports art that is the same as that designed for the 1954 Warners' US reissue. The poster has another poster printed on the back, but there is minimal bleed through to the front. There were many wrinkles and creases around the edges and some additional creasing in the lower left and right corners. These have been flattened through linenbacking and there has been some slight additional color touchup to the borders. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
