    Description

    Sunset Boulevard (Paramount, 1950). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style B.
"I am big! It's the pictures that got small." Aging film actress Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson) is desperate for attention and the limelight once again. She hires writer Joe Gillis (William Holden) to write her comeback script and Gillis begins to see the destruction and decent into madness that Hollywood has on all who succumb to its allure. While the script by Billy Wilder won an Oscar, the film had many more nominations, including for director (Wilder), Holden, Swanson, Eric von Stroheim and Best Picture. Light touchup has been applied to a couple of pinholes in the bottom corners, a few small tears, and a light surface scuff in Swanson's cheek. There is some slight unaddressed edge wear, light smudges, and a thin crease in Swanson's image. This poster boasts brilliant color and has never been folded. With the image of Swanson looming over Holden and Nancy Olson, this is considered the best graphic on the film. Rolled, Very Fine.
