DescriptionThe Big Sleep & Other Lot (Warner Bros., 1946). Very Fine-. Photo & Publicity Photo (8.25" X 10").
This lot includes a photo of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall from The Big Sleep, which showcases the electric spark between the stars, as well as a beautiful publicity shot of Bacall from 1944. The Big Sleep, with its lightning fast dialogue, a labyrinthian plot, legendary femme fatales (Bacall and Martha Vickers), and Bogart as the unflappable P.I. Philip Marlowe, became an instant film noir classic. Both photos are vintage silver gelatin, single weight, and glossy finish. Signs of use include light creases, minor surface blemishes, faint smudges, and slight surface checking. The photo from The Big Sleep has a couple of stains and has two ink stamps on the verso.
Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
