Kiss of Death (20th Century Fox, 1947). Rolled on Paper, Very Fine. One Sheet (27" X 41").
This spectacular full-bleed one sheet for Kiss of Death hints at the twisted film noir plot adapted from a story written by Eleazar Lipsky. Directed by Henry Hathaway, the film stars Victor Mature as a troubled man surrounded by darkness who must tempt his fate and face a crazed criminal out for revenge. The picture was nominated for two Academy Awards and featured Coleen Gray and Richard Widmark in their big-screen debuts. This film along with most of the pre-1949 features produced by 20th Century Fox was among several titles included in the launch of the NTA Film Network syndication service in the mid-1950s. This unusual poster has gained a popular following due to the rarity of its black and white design, making it suitable for any vintage or film noir poster collector. This striking one sheet has been professionally backed on paper and has received gentle touchup to folds, pinpoint crossfold separation, and a few pinholes in each corner. Some very light edgewear is still visible.
