    Description

    Detour (PRC, 1945). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Three Sheet (41" X 80").
Heritage is proud to present this three sheet for Detour for the first time. Known for his unusual films like The Black Cat, director Edgar G. Ulmer created this yarn about a pianist (Tom Neal) who hitch-hikes to LA to see his girlfriend. Along the way he picks up Ann Savage, a blackmailing she-devil who takes him on a descent into hell, creating one of the greatest film noirs ever made. The black and white striped motif edging the background is an ingenious creative touch, the simulated "detour" sign instantly catching the eye of any passerby. Restoration has been applied to edge and fold wear, fold separations, and pinholes. Also addressed were chips at the borders and folds, as well as some tears into the interior. Unaddressed wear includes minor tears at the edges and unobtrusive stains and smudges. The linen has been trimmed to the borders in some places and very slightly into the paper in a few instances. As this is a first time offer, this poster presents a chance collectors will not want to miss!
