Body and Soul (United Artists, 1947). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
John Garfield's Oscar nominated performance as an ambitious boxer, scrapping his way to the top by any means necessary, was considered by many to be his finest. Shortly after this, his first independent production, Garfield's career stalled when he was accused of being a communist sympathizer and was blacklisted by Hollywood. This lobby card set features several great shots from the film, and pictures Garfield on all eight cards. The title card has pinholes in the borders, crease/stain in the bottom border, staple hole in the yellow background, and a smudge in the bottom border. All of the scene cards have one staple hole in the center of the top border and a bottom left corner bend, #6 and #7 have a small gouge, #6 has scratches and #3 has a shadow in the bottom border and lower image. Several have small edge tears, but overall, the set displays extremely well. Fine/Very Fine.
