Fatherland by Robert Stromberg (HBO, 1994). Fine/Very Fine. Original Screen-Used Oil Matte Painting on Masonite (90" X 48").
This impressive illustration of the Volkshalle, Hitler's grandest structure planned for the post-war rebuilding of Berlin, comes from the brush of Robert Stromberg during his tenure at the esteemed special effects studio, Illusion Arts. Stromberg gained an Emmy nomination for his illustrative talents on the movie, and has won Emmys for such shows as Boardwalk Empire and two different Star Trek series, as well as Best Art Direction Oscars for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and James Cameron's Avatar. Signs of handling found on this Heritage first include surface scuffs, small surface lifts, and mild smudging. There are some scratches, including a horizontal scratch across the sky in the background. There is a remnant from a piece of paper tape at the bottom, but this is most likely due to the production process. Due to the size/weight of this lot, shipping costs may be higher than usual.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
