The Wizard of Oz (MGM, R-1949). Rolled, Fine+. Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style B.This style-b half sheet from the 1949 re-release of The Wizard of Oz focuses on the wonderful spectacle of the beloved fantasy classic with images of Dorothy (Judy Garland) and the friends she meets along the yellow brick road. Pictured along with Dorothy are the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), the Tin Man (Jack Haley), the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr), and the Wizard of Oz himself (Frank Morgan) from memorable scenes in the film. This style of half sheet has only been offered at Heritage twice before, making this a rare opportunity to collect this whimsical memento of Dorothy's journey. The poster displays edge wear, creasing, scuffs, mild tears, pinholes, and a small chip. There are also smudges, unobtrusive stains, and some light toning on the poster's edges. On the verso are multiple strips of paper and masking tape, as well as ink stamps and remnants from a couple of stickers.
