Description

The Wizard of Oz (MGM, 1939). Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41") Style D.
Time has been powerless to erase the enduring magic of this wonderful film which has delighted generations of children, both young and old, for over eight decades. Judy Garland brings to life Dorothy Gale, the child in all of us, who yearns to escape to a perfect place over the rainbow. Along her way in the magical land of Oz, Dorothy encounters a host of unforgettable characters: the clever Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), the sentimental Tin Man (Jack Haley), the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr), witches both good and bad, and the wonderful Wizard of Oz. The gang is all here on this highly sought-after style D one sheet, and is perhaps the better of the two styles produced for the films original release! Offered less than a handful of times at Heritage, this magnificent piece of cinema history is one opportunity you won't want to miss! Restoration has addressed fold wear and minor chips in the borders and folds. The faces of the cowardly lion and the wizard have also been skillfully restored in addition to missing corner chips. Subtle restoration has also been applied to the body, hat, and arm of the animated image of the scarecrow.
