    Description

Film Fantasy Scrapbook by Ray Harryhausen & Other Lot (The Tantivy Press, 1974). Autographed Hardcover Book (142 Pages, 9.25" X 12.25" X .5") Revised 2nd Edition & Magazine (Multiple Pages, 6.5" X 9.25"). Fantasy.
Visual effects master Ray Harryhausen produced this book as a collection of images, sketches, background set pieces, and sequences of films that inspired him and films he worked on from The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms to The Valley of Gwangi (this revised edition has added images from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad). Included with Film Fantasy Scrapbook is an issue of Popular Mechanics magazine (April, 1941) featuring an article about Harryhausen and showing behind the scenes shots from his unfinished project Evolution of the World. Unrestored items that display signs of use. May include edge or spine wear, slight spine separations or cracks, creases, small tears, surface scuffs, very minor paper loss, staining and smudges, or mild toning. Popular Mechanics has some unobtrusive writing and Film Fantasy Scrapbook has an ink stamp at the bottom of the title page. The book is signed, "Ray Harryhausen." Heritage Auctions believes that the autograph in this lot is authentic, but know before bidding that no Certificate of Authenticity is provided. Please see full-color, enlargeable image above for more details. Fine/Very Fine.
