Description

Akira Kurosawa's Dreams (Warner Brothers, 1990). Lobby Card Set of 9 (12" X 16"). This unusual lobby card set from the film's American release features 8 prints of original storyboard drawings by the picture's widely acclaimed director on lovely matte finish card stock. Also included is a cover card listing the eight scenes included in the set. This cover also states "Steven Spielberg Presents" and identifies "Dreams" as an opening night selection for the 1990 Cannes International Film Festival. The cards are encased in a beautiful white custom portfolio featuring a large red Japanese character on the front. This is a simple and striking presentation of some truly lovely pieces. The cards are in practically pristine condition, with only the very slightest corner wear, likely the natural result of residing inside the folder. The cards themselves are in Near Mint/Mint condition. The folder, however, shows some wear with wrinkling and scratches on its back and scattered light smudges on both sides as well as some wrinkling on its upper edge. It is still beautiful and mostly clean on the front side, and these defects do not detract from the overall impact of the presentation. Because of the portfolio's condition, however, the set as a whole rates Very Fine/Near Mint.
