    Description

Love Life of a Gorilla (Jewel Productions, R-1940s). One Sheet (28" X 41") Reissue Title: Kidnapping Gorillas.
An early auteur of exploitation, Samuel Cummins spent much of his career fighting against film censorship boards to get his movies screened in the U.S., Love Life of a Gorilla was no exception. Inspired by the pre-Code Ingagi, combined with the rampant success of King Kong, Cummins presented his own lurid tale of lusty apes and jungle women by splicing together cuts from Ingagi itself, with Angkor, and possibly a separate 1934 film also titled Kidnapping Gorillas. It's unknown just how wide of a circulation Cummins managed to procure, as many states still shunned the film even after it bypassed national restrictions under the label of being "educational." In excellent shape, this poster only has a tear in the left border and some light creasing. Rolled, Very Fine.
