Vintage gelatin silver, color, and black and white, single and double weight, glossy and matte finish original and restrike photos of Esther Williams. Included are photos from the films The Duchess of Idaho (MGM, 1950), Dangerous When Wet (MGM, 1953), Texas Carnival (MGM, 1951), The Hoodlum Saint (MGM, 1946), Thrill of a Romance (MGM, 1945), and Raw Wind in Eden (Universal International, 1958). Unrestored photos with clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as light edge wear, thin dust shadows, minor creases, faint surface blemishes, or unobtrusive smudges. The photo for Raw Wind in Eden has been trimmed in the top border and is toned, and another photo has also been trimmed. The two photos for Dangerous When Wet have hole punches in the top border. Several photos have printing, snipes, writing, and/or ink stamps on the verso. The photo for Texas Carnival has been signed, "Esther Williams." Heritage Auctions believes the signature in this lot to be authentic, but know before bidding that no Certificate of Authenticity is provided.
Sunday Internet Movie Poster: These auctions are presented only online and bidding is only taken through our website. There are two phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1) Normal bidding: Bids are taken up until 10 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2) 10 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 10:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 10 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 10:03, the new end time for that lot would become 10:13. If no other bids were placed before 10:13, the lot would close. If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the bidding during the 10 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding). If you are the only bidder at 6 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 10:10. Important: After normal bidding ends, you must be signed-on to the Heritage site to see the bidding option on lots where you qualify for extended bidding.
