    Eden Hashish Centre (1973). Rolled, Fine+. Calendar (14" X 24.25"). Miscellaneous.
Offered is an incredible example of one of the calendars sold at one of the Eden Hashish Centres in Kathmandu, Nepal during the early 1970s. As the largest of several legal "hash and grass" shops in Nepal, the storefront owned by Mr. Sharma attracted many tourists who wound up purchasing advertisement calendars like these as souvenirs before both of the shops closed in 1973, due to Richard Nixon's pressure to outlaw the sale of Cannabis products. Featured on this poster is a serene image of Krishna playing a flute with an ornamented cow partner, radiating a sense of happiness and peace for the viewers. Also worth noting on this calendar is the printed address for the newer shop that had opened in early 1973, making the calendars with both addresses of the more rare variety. An unrestored calendar with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may have slight edge wear, light creases, a complete fold separation, small tears and chips, or subtle toning. There are several strips of archival tape bracing the fold separation in the top portion of the image, and a few strips of cellophane tape attaching a 1975 tear-away calendar at the bottom. The calendar still has its original metal bar and hanging loop at the top.
