Description

The Wolf of Wall Street (Paramount, 1929). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Three Sheet (40.75" X 80") Style B.
A stark warning against unchecked greed and ambition, The Wolf of Wall Street is a striking pre-Code financial drama directed by Rowland V. Lee. Initially conceived as a silent film, Paramount re-filmed the entire production with sound, marking George Bancroft's first talking picture. Bancroft delivers a commanding performance as the titular wolf, a ruthless and charismatic Wall Street magnate whose relentless pursuit of wealth leads to both staggering success and inevitable ruin. Blinded by his own ambition, he manipulates the market with little regard for the consequences, only to face a sobering downfall. The film's release, eerily timed just months before the catastrophic stock market crash of 1929, makes its themes of financial corruption and instability all the more prophetic. Though often overshadowed by other films of its era, The Wolf of Wall Street endures as a compelling reflection on the volatility of financial empires and the destructive nature of unchecked power. Proudly presented for the first time, Heritage is thrilled to offer this remarkable style B one sheet for the film, its image presenting a raving Bancroft against a bold red background. Touchup to the folds has addressed fold wear, creases, fold/crossfold separation, and moderate chips and tears.
