The Way of All Flesh, a poignant silent melodrama directed by Victor Fleming, marked Emil Jannings's American film debut and earned him the first-ever Academy Award for Best Actor, an honor awarded that year for his performances in both this film and The Last Command, the only year the acting Oscars recognized multiple roles. The film follows a humble bank clerk whose life unravels after a tragic betrayal, exploring themes of identity, sacrifice, and redemption with emotional depth. Although now considered a lost film, it remains a significant milestone in early cinema and a lasting testament to Jannings's powerful screen presence, all brilliantly highlighted in this gorgeous one sheet. Professionally restored through use of touchup, airbrushing, and replacement, this poster has been beautifully brought back to life, correcting edge and fold wear, creasing, several tears, and significant chips/chipping and tattering primarily along the borders.
