Nance O'Neil was a Broadway actress who found her way to Hollywood stardom during the silent era. Best known for Refuter Sonata (1915), she managed the transition to sound with large roles in The Rogue Song (1930) and Cimarron (1931). O'Neil had a whispered-about relationship with Lizzie Borden, eleven years after Borden was acquitted of the murder of her parents. O'Neil is a character in the 1994 play, Lizzie Borden: A Musical Tragedy in Two Axe. Professional restoration has been applied to mild tears and chips in the borders and folds, pinholes in the borders and background, and touchup was applied to the folds. There are two large mirrored areas of reattached paper in the left border and image area. Fine on Linen.
