DescriptionThe Single Standard (MGM, 1929). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Greta Garbo plays a free spirited socialite who rejects the "double standard" of the day and prefers to live by her own "single standard," engaging in flings with any man she chooses, and scandal ensues. This melodrama was Garbo's penultimate silent film, ably directed by John S. Robertson. This lovely card has a couple of pinholes in the upper and bottom background, a smudge in the upper left corner, and a small tear in the left border. There were pencil marks through Dorothy Sebastian's and under Johnny Mack Brown's credits though mostly eradicated. Fine/Very Fine.
Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
