The Prodigal (MGM, 1955). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). The gorgeous Lana Turner stars in this Biblical epic about the prodigal son, co-starring Edmund Purdom and Louis Calhern. Joseph Wiseman, who later played Dr. No, also has a role in this film. Turner plays a pagan high priestess who seduces Purdom (the prodigal) until he wastes all his money and is sold into slavery. This movie cost a fortune to make, which it did not make back at the box office. Title card has the right corner missing, staining on bottom border and top left corner, and a censor stamp. The scene cards are in great shape with pinholes at the corners and some light creasing and edge wear. The exceptions are # 6, which has a small tear on right corner, some paper loss on top left and right corners and a small stain on bottom left corner; and # 7, which has a left bottom corner chip, some paper loss on top right corner on back and some small tape stains on back.
