The Little Princess (20th Century Fox, 1939). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). Shirley Temple was 11 when she asked to film a movie based on her favorite book, Frances Hodgson Burnett's "The Little Princess." The studio was quick to comply with the young star's one and only request for a specific film role. Shirley even flexed her star power enough to ensure that her best friend Sybil Jason would be cast as her best friend in this (and her next two) films. Anita Louise, Ian Hunter, Cesar Romero and Arthur Treacher co-star. One card has an old crease that extends into Shirley. Four cards have edge or corner chips. One card has a number of pinholes in the image area and a small amount of the top layer of paper is missing, likely do to tape removal. Some of the cards have the Australian censor's triangle, and some show lighter areas where the triangle was removed. All of the cards have edge wear, soiling, toning, and pinholes. All eight cards feature Shirley in one of her most popular roles. Good/Very Good.
