The Birth of a Nation (Epoch Producing, R-1921). Fair/Good on Linen. One Sheet (28" X 41").A rare sight to see, this incredible stone litho one sheet hails from one of the most influential, and most controversial, motion pictures of all time. At the height of his creativity, director D.W. Griffith broke new ground with an impressive slew of cinematic innovations, technical effects, and artistic achievements. This dramatic piece has undergone exceptionally skilled conservation, repairing issues such as a fold wear, a couple of tears in the upper background, and some creases. No longer visible after expert restoration, this poster also once displayed a trimmed upper border, paper loss along the side borders slightly into the blue background, as well as paper loss from the bottom of the image to the lower edge. However, these imperfections have been rendered nigh imperceptible, and this beautifully detailed stone litho piece would be a fantastic addition to any classic collection. Fair/Good on Linen.
