Description

That Hamilton Woman (United Artists, 1941). One Sheet (27" X 41").
"You cannot make peace with dictators. You have to destroy them, wipe them out!" Intended as a propaganda piece to bring the U.S. into World War II (with some dialogue written by Winston Churchill), this tale of Lord Nelson (Laurence Olivier) and his mistress, Lady Hamilton (Vivien Leigh), served as a sizzling romance. It was the only film the two stars made together while they were married, and was a favorite of both Churchill and Joseph Stalin. There has been touchup to the folds, pinholes in the borders and interior, and a horizontal crease in the left side. The poster had small chips in the borders and folds prior to restoration, and there is an unaddressed pinhole in Leigh's dress. Fine/Very Fine on Linen

    Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
