    Description

Sweet Smell of Success (United Artists, 1957). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Ernest Lehman and Clifford Odets' dark story about greed, obsession and fear was a box-office failure upon its release, but has since gained a cult status as one of the most highly regarded films of the fifties. Burt Lancaster co-produced the film which cast him in the role of J. J. Hunsecker, a powerful New York columnist who is willing to use and abuse to get what he wants. Tony Curtis is Sydney Falco, a press agent willing to do anything to get Hunsecker's blessing. This is one of those posters which will only grow in importance in the coming years. This one sheet has very light fold wear with one small cross fold separation, a couple of edge tears on the lower right, tape scuffs and stains in the corners, and a corner chip in the lower left. There are a few pinholes in Lancaster's face, and the linen has been trimmed to the edge of the poster on the top and bottom. The poster has been mounted on linen and professionally restored, giving it a very clean appearance. Great shots of Lancaster and Curtis. Very Fine- on Linen.
