Sporting Blood (MGM, 1931). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). From the Leonard and Alice Maltin Collection.
This superb lobby card features Clark Gable in his first starring role, standing alongside Madge Evans while watching the horses in this racetrack drama. Gable is gambler Rid Riddell, who has received a racehorse as payment of a gambling debt, and Evans is Ruby, who deals cards for Riddell. The horse starts to win races, but Riddell's basic dishonesty creates trouble for all involved. The card displays nicely after restoration which included airbrush to the borders and slightly into the left background to address missing paper and creasing. From the Leonard and Alice Maltin Collection. Fine.
