Description
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (Artcraft, 1917). One Sheet (27.5" X 41.5").As unquestionably "America's Sweetheart" Mary Pickford is ideally cast as the optimistic Rebecca Randall in this first film adaptation of Kate Douglas Wiggin's famed 1908 novel. The film was made by the actresses own production company and is notable for being adapted to the screen by one of the first female screenwriters, Frances Marion, who was a favorite of Pickford, and wrote several films for the star. Made at the height of Pickford's popularity, this is one of the finest of her Little Girl roles, and was a huge box office success. This very special one sheet has been professionally restored to address corner pinholes, fold wear, crossfold separations with a small loss at the center, chips along the right border, one chip in the left border, and two in the bottom border. A beautifully rendered stone litho portrait of the film legend, this is a stock poster very much from the period of the film's release and has the title put in below Pickford's name. Fine- on Linen.
