Description

Rain (United Artists, 1932). Very Fine. Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Based on W. Somerset Maugham's novel, Miss Sadie Thompson, this engrossing drama stars Joan Crawford as a streetwalker who ends up on Pago Pago in the South Pacific, and attracts the attention of virtually every man in the area, including a naïve sergeant (William Gargan) and a pious preacher (Walter Huston). This card reveals the core of the film, as it displays both the conflict and sexual tension between Joan Crawford and Walter Huston. It shows minor border toning and a repaired tear at the upper edge. From the Wood Hall Collection.
