    Description

    Picnic (Columbia-CEID, 1956). Italian 2 - Foglio (39" X 55").
A 1950s box office hit, Picnic was adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning William Inge play. William Holden is a wayward soul who drifts into a small Kansas town during the Labor Day celebration. He's hoping to reap the kindness of an old college buddy (Cliff Robertson), but instead steals his "pal's" sweetheart, Kim Novak. A devastatingly beautiful Novak appears in the clutches of Holden in this image by Italian artist Enrico DeSeta. Heritage is pleased to present the 2-foglio format for the first time in our Signature Auction. There is light toning along the folds, but some touchup has been applied. Very Fine on Linen.
