    Description

    Mexicali Rose (Columbia, 1929). Half Sheet (22" X 28").
Erle C. Kenton directs Barbara Stanwyck and Sam Hardy in this early drama set in a seedy bordertown. Stanwyck shines as the title character, in this, only her second credited screen role. In this pre-Code gem, Rose is kicked out of town by a jealous saloon owner for promiscuity, and seeks revenge by marrying his brother, which leads to tragedy. A stunning early portrait of the top actress, this half sheet is a spectacular item for Stanwyck fans. It has been professionally restored to address an small area of paper loss at the top right edge border only, a minor corner chip in the lower right, small tack holes in the right and left borders, and a few in the image. All has been expertly repaired, and this colorful poster is ready for prominent display. Fine+ on Paper.
