Description

Marguerite Clark (Paramount, Late 1910s). Stock Personality One Sheet (26.75" X 41.75").
Marguerite Clark made her Broadway debut in 1900 at the age of 17. After several successful years on stage, the actress signed with Famous Players-Lasky (Paramount) in 1914. Although Clark was 31 when she began her film career, she possessed a very youthful, girlish quality, much like Mary Pickford, that appealed to audiences of the day. Standing only 4'10" and weighing 90 pounds, Clark was able to play the roles of much younger characters. After 40 films with Paramount, Clark created her own production company in 1921, and retired shortly thereafter with her husband to their country estate in New Orleans. This stone litho poster with art nouveau flourishes has been professionally restored to address a good bit of chipping in the upper and lower border as well as sporadically in the left and right. the interior image has small chips and some tears throughout. Good/Very Good on Linen.
