Jealous Husbands (First National, 1923). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Hard to believe, but rumpled, balding "Officer Frank Smith" (Ben Alexander) of the famous TV show, Dragnet (1953-1959), was at one time a golden-haired child actor. That's him being choked by real life wrestler, Bull Montana. Montana is a story all in himself, being a close friend of Douglas Fairbanks, who liked the "big lug" so much he became Montana's manager to keep him from being taken advantage of in the film business. Montana is kidnapping Alexander and taking him to a band of gypsies for payback on supposed adultery by his mom, Jane Novak (at the back right of the poster). Great action graphics and a beautiful stone lithograph from the early 1920s. Original condition with crossfold separations, a tear in the right border into the art, and a date stamp at the top. There are small tack holes in the borders and bottom image, some edge wear with tears in the borders, an extra bottom horizontal fold crease, and small chips in the left border and top right corner. Fine+.
