    Description

In Old Chicago (20th Century Fox, 1937). Fine on Linen. Autographed One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A. Frederic C. Madan Artwork. From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
A first time offer from Heritage that was at one point on display at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Grand Lobby Gallery, this Style A one sheet is by far the more scarce of the styles. Darryl F. Zanuck responded to the success of MGM's San Francisco with his fanciful tale of the Great Chicago Fire. Tyrone Power, Don Ameche and Alice Faye star in one of Fox's star-studded extravaganzas. The studio turned out some of the most beautiful posters in that period and this is no exception. With lovely stone litho artwork by artist, Frederic C. Madan, the poster is signed by Don Ameche. The poster had a rather large chip in the lower right corner as well as a smaller chip into Power's earlobe and slightly into his face. The poster had a small amount of marker on the verso no longer apparent as well as pinholes and border wear.
