    Description

Her American Husband (Triangle, 1918). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27.75" X 41").
Darrell Foss takes top billing in this silent "love tragedy of Japan and America" produced by Triangle Studios. Brothers Harry and Roy Aitken founded Triangle in 1915, pioneering the studio system of the Golden Age. Harry was a partner of D.W. Griffith, both of whom left Mutual after the success of Birth of a Nation and together with Thomas Ince and Mack Sennett began this "prestige" studio. Skillful restoration has addressed some fold wear and separation, a few chips in the borders, a couple of creases, and small tears. There were two tears from the top and bottom background extending into the interior, one into Teddy Sampson's image. The borders have been airbrushed. Over a century old, this gorgeous stone litho one sheet boasts a beautiful Oriental motif around the borders and colors as fresh as the day it was printed, complimenting the radiant Sampson as the beautiful leading lady at its center.
