Description
Hamlet (Universal, 1948). Half Sheet (22" X 28"). Sir Laurence Olivier was the first person to direct himself to a best actor Oscar. "Hamlet" also won the nod as Best Picture for 1949. An interesting side note in the making of the film was that Hamlet (Olivier) was 41 years old at the time of the filming, and Eileen Herlie, the actress portraying his mother, was only 28 years old. The half sheet has been expertly conserved and mounted on paper. Fine+.Heritage Auctions provides detailed information when available but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
