Description
Grand Hotel (MGM, 1932). One Sheet (27" X 41"). MGM pulled out all the stops in the first of their star-studded features. This film won the Best Picture Oscar the year of its release, and was a tremendous money maker. There was scepticism initially that by putting all of their stars in one picture, Greta Garbo, John and Lionel Barrymore, Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery that they (the studio) might lose money, instead of spreading the stars out over 5 or 6 pictures. With its financial and critical success, the way was open to produce many similar films. This extremely elusive one sheet has finally surfaced for the second time in many, many years and it's rarity is legend among poster collectors. The poster has had a small chip in the upper right and left corners expertly restored as well as a small chip near the litho seal in the lower right corner. There was minor touch-up in some minor fold separation of the poster, but the poster now appears mint. The colors are just outstanding and we would doubt that there is a better condition copy in existance. Get this grand poster now or you may be waiting a long time to see another.
