Cleopatra (Paramount, 1934). Very Good/Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A.
Never before offered by Heritage, this very scarce style A one sheet is from one of the most decadent and memorable dramas of the 1930s. Colbert was at the height of her fame in 1934; she also appeared in Imitation of Life and It Happened One Night - for which she won a Best Actress Academy Award. Director Cecil B. DeMille's penchant for grandeur and spectacle is on full display in this lavish production, one of the most elaborate films of its time. An instant success at its release, this opulent picture earned an Academy Award for its stunning cinematography and a nomination for Outstanding Production. This poster had touchup applied to the lettering and folds, there was paper loss to the upper background, small tears to the background, a large chip was treated at the lower cross fold, airbrushing and paint was applied to the lower background, portions of the face and much of the lettering, and the borders were trimmed.
