    Description

    Citizen Kane (RKO, 1941). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A.
Proud and aloof, Orson Welles (as Charles Foster Kane) stands above scenes from the early part of Kane's life, including him as a boy holding his cherished sled "Rosebud." Citizen Kane came very near to never even being released, due to the opposition of William Randolph Hearst, whose life he was sure the film was portraying. Shunned by many theaters fearful of Hearst's power, the film had an initial poor showing at the box office and garnered very few nominations at the Academy Awards. Subsequent reissues and revivals restored the film's reputation, and it has now been acclaimed as one of the finest pictures ever made. Posters from this iconic American classic have always been in high demand, and this is a very fine example. There has been minor touchup to the folds which has restored a small hole at the bottom and a small chip in the bottom horizontal fold. There is dust shadow on the left border and just on the very edge of the right border. A small tear in the cast list on the right side and small nicks in the left and right borders and top left corner can also be detected. Very Fine- on Linen.
