Tom Chantrell's illustration for this double crown is amongst the best poster likenesses of Marilyn Monroe from any country during her tragically short but legendary film career. The story of a a small-town cowboy who tries to win over a cafe singer with show business dreams, Bus Stop, was based on a play by William Inge. Marilyn was praised for her performance in a more complex and nuanced role than some of her earlier efforts. Backed to linen, there was touchup to a tear at upper left and wear and small chips in the bottom corners. This lovely poster presents well.
