    Description

    Blonde Venus (Paramount, 1932). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Marlene Dietrich is incredibly radiant as a German cabaret singer living in America whose husband (Herbert Marshall) falls gravely ill. His only hope is an expensive medical treatment, forcing Dietrich to take on a job at a nightclub to earn extra money. There she meets Cary Grant, a wealthy playboy willing to give her money if she will consort with him. As her ailing husband regains his health, relations become complicated between Dietrich and the two men in her life. Directed by Josef von Sternberg, the film is considered by many to be Dietrich's best, and it features the enchantress in well-known scenes performing musical numbers. Offered in this lot, a Heritage first, is a great scene of star Dietrich and Sydney Toler, pre-Charlie Chan, as Detective Wilson. This rare lobby shows only minor corner wear and a pinhole in the upper right border. There is a rubber stamp on the verso. Very Fine+
