Description
Blonde Venus (Paramount, 1932). Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27.5" X 40.75").A first time offer for Heritage, we are thrilled to present this exceptional and remarkably rare one sheet for Blonde Venus. Starring the luminous Marlene Dietrich and featuring a young Cary Grant, both under the excellent direction of Josef von Sternberg, the film follows Dietrich becoming a nightclub singer to fund her ailing husband's medical treatment and the complicated love triangle that ensues. With a combination of iconic musical numbers and a bold exploration of sexual and gender politics, Blonde Venus is both a landmark film for its era as well as a lasting example of cinematic excellence. Airbrushing along the borders and within the white background has restored edge and fold wear, creases, some chipping, and moderate to significant tears while light touchup along the folds and within Dietrich's forehead has further addressed fold wear, creases, and a couple of tears. Minor stains within the white background, pinholes at the corners of the linen, and some restoration remain visible.
